Introduction:

Double Incision Top Surgery, also known as DIPS, is a surgical procedure for female to male transgender patients. It creates a masculine chest by removing most of the breast tissue and excess skin and creating two vertical scars called incisions in the breast area. The DIPS procedure can be done in combination with other FTM top surgery procedures like liposuction or skin removal. It can also be performed on its own by removing the breasts entirely.

This procedure is for trans men who are looking to have a more masculine chest. It can be combined with other procedures such as Double Incision Bilateral Mastectomy, Liposuction, or Lipofilling. The surgery procedure has two incisions that are made along the breastbone, also known as the sternal split. The nipple and surrounding tissue are removed and then the remaining breast tissue is reshaped and contoured.

The procedure is performed with two distinct incisions on either side of the chest. The length of the incision depends on the amount of tissue that needs to be removed. If you are considering top surgery, you should know that there are several different techniques available to achieve the same results. It is important to find a board-certified plastic surgeon who performs top surgery regularly and has vast experience with all of the different methods.   Double Incision Top Surgery is a surgical procedure to remove breast tissue and reposition the nipple and areola.

Things you need to know before your double incision top surgery:

1. It’s a major procedure that involves a long recovery period. Why? because you’re going under general anesthesia and few long incisions are required.

2. There’s a lot of work that needs to be done inside your chest. For instance, you have to heal from the tissue expanders being placed inside you as well as the space being created for your new breasts. In comparison, a peri-areolar surgery takes less time to heal as the skin is only being cut around the nipple area and not up into your chest.

3. You have to be really healthy in order for this surgery to go well for you. This means that if any pre-existing health conditions that could complicate matters arise, a doctor may suggest a different procedure altogether or perhaps postpone your surgery until those health problems are resolved.

4. There’s risk involved because of the pain and discomfort you will experience after surgery, but things like pain medication and any other medications can make you drowsy and affect your ability to concentrate and think clearly which is important if you need it.

Types of top Surgeries are listed below:

Double incision, Periareolar, Keyhole, Buttonhole.

What is double incision top surgery?

Double incision surgery is a technique used to create a female body from male anatomy. It also involves two cuts, one at each side of the lower breast. In this surgery, the skin of the chest is opened in two places, just above the pectoral muscles, and then moved to one side to expose the underlying tissue. The skin and tissues are lifted up to form an inverted “T”. Once the breast tissue has been removed through these incisions, they can be closed with sutures or stapled. The chest is then reconstructed using tissue grafts or implants. The main aim of this surgery is to create natural-looking breasts by creating round-shaped breasts containing nipple and areola complexes.

What is periareolar top surgery?

Periareolar top surgery is usually a cosmetic procedure that is done to enhance the breast. It is usually done to those who have been unhappy with the shape or size of their breasts. When the breasts are lifted up, the areola will appear smaller. In addition, the breast tissue will be elevated, giving the appearance of a smaller breast. The purpose of periareolar top surgery is to lift the breast tissue and to provide a more aesthetically pleasing shape. The top of the breast can be lifted and shaped for a more youthful, contoured look.

What is keyhole top surgery?

Keyhole top surgery, also known as a peri-areolar mastectomy, is a breast reduction procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the areola-nipple area. The incisions are made around the areola, rather than directly on it. This reduces scarring because there’s less visible incisional tissue. The advantage of keyhole top surgery is that it results in fewer visible scars. It takes anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes to perform, but you’ll have to stay overnight in the hospital and need someone to drive you home after the surgery. Surgery is not appropriate for everyone. If you have large breasts or your nipples point downward, this procedure probably won’t result in an improvement for you.

What is buttonhole top Surgery?

A buttonhole is a technique used in top surgery for chest masculinization. In this technique, a horizontal incision is made under the breast, and skin from each side of the incision is pulled together to create a small hole similar to the buttonhole of a shirt. There are no hard and fast rules for this technique, but it is generally performed when there is not enough skin available for a full anchor pattern, or when there is too much redundant skin left after an anchor pattern has been performed. It can be performed either as part of a metoidioplasty or as a stand-alone procedure.

Cost of double incision top surgery:

Some conditions that determine the actual cost of  this surgery  include:

1. Your age.

2. The technique used to perform your procedure.

3. Surgeon experience and training.

4. The type of anesthesia used if any.

5. The location of the surgery facility.

In many cases, insurance companies will not cover the cost of top surgery completely because they consider it a cosmetic procedure. In other cases, they may cover a portion of the cost. The cost of top surgery, also known as a double incision or keyhole top surgery, can vary depending on the doctor performing the procedure and the specific procedure performed. Top surgery is more commonly performed on trans women than trans men due to differences in chest anatomy.

A common misconception is that this type of surgery will remove all breast tissue from the patient’s body. In actuality, it will remove excess skin and glandular tissue from the chest area while maintaining an intact nipple-areola complex. The cost for this type of procedure can range from $7,000 to $20,000, remember this is an estimate and not the actual cost. This process is a major life decision and one that should not be taken lightly. Surgery can be very expensive and there are many factors to consider before having any type of procedure done.

Top surgery risks and complications.

Double top surgery complication is a problem that may occur after undergoing this procedure. In most cases, it is caused by an accidental infection or a faulty implant, but in some cases, it is brought on by an immune response to the silicone prosthesis. This condition usually occurs when the immune system attacks both the body and the implanted material, causing a condition called granuloma.

It is important for all patients to be aware of the symptoms of double top surgery complications so that they can be treated as soon as possible. In most cases of Surgery complications, patients develop a hard lump under their skin where the silicone implant has been placed. This lump can be painful and will not go away with time or at all on its own. In some cases, pus will form around the lump and it may even grow very large and begin to throb and ache. Complications can also cause inflammation and swelling of adjacent tissues and surrounding areas such as the breast and chest wall. If left untreated, this condition can lead to serious infections and even death.

How to find a good surgeon.

The medical field is an area that is constantly changing and growing at a very fast rate. It’s crucial to have the best surgeons on your side who are able to help you with whatever medical issues you may have. The advent of new technology has enabled doctors to come up with more precise solutions for the most complex of problems that would have otherwise been considered impossible to treat.

There are many doctors who are both skilled and experienced in their field but it takes a lot of time, effort, and research to find them. The internet has made this job easier by providing online directories of doctors from various fields. These directories allow you to see the qualifications of various doctors before scheduling an appointment with them. A plastic surgeon is a specialist who deals with the restoration, reconstruction, and/or alteration of human body structures using plastic surgery.

There are also some directories that provide detailed information about certain conditions along with the best treatment options according to their specialties. This saves you the trouble of having to go through each doctor’s profile just to figure out if they’re experienced enough or not. The internet has also made it possible for patients to check the reviews that have been left by past patients about their experiences with various doctors before making appointments with them. This will give you an idea about whether the doctor is good at his job or not.

While it may seem like common sense, choosing a surgeon based on qualifications can save you from making big mistakes down the road. Another few ways to find a good surgeon are through referrals. If you have friends or family members who’ve had plastic surgery, ask them if they’re happy with their results. They may even be able to recommend someone they were happy with. Other methods are also listed below

Look for certifications. The American Board of Plastic Surgery is one of the most well-known certifying bodies in the field of plastic surgery. A certified plastic surgeon has met rigorous standards of education and training to ensure that he or she can meet your needs.

Check credentials carefully. If you’re not sure whether the surgeon you’re looking at is board-certified or not, look up his or her credentials on the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeries.

In addition, a surgeon who has been practicing for many years may be better than a newly graduated doctor.

When choosing a surgeon, remember the following:

  1. Look for experience. It is crucial that your doctor has experience with the type of surgery you need. Find out if the doctor has performed your procedure before. If so, ask about his or her results and how often the procedure is performed in his or her office to determine if he or she is an expert. Also, ask what percentage of patients have complications and what those complications are. Before you commit to surgery, it is important to understand all possible risks and complications that could occur during and after surgery, as well as any alternatives to your required procedure that might be available (such as medication).
  2. Ask about service after the surgery. Do you meet with the doctor before and after surgery? How long does it take to get an appointment? Are there any restrictions on activity after surgery? How much time will you need off from work? will the costs be covered by insurance?
  3. Is there an average wait time?.

How long does it take to heal from keyhole top surgery?

It is very difficult to give any kind of precise answer when it comes to the length of time it will take for you to heal from your keyhole or periareolar mastectomy. Though some women experience a relatively speedy recovery, others take longer and require far more aftercare and treatment. The most important thing is for you to follow the advice and instructions which your surgeon gives you in order to ensure that your healing process takes place as smoothly and effectively as possible. However, there are a number of factors that can affect how long it takes you to fully recover from keyhole top surgery; factors such as:

Your general health:

It makes sense that if you are generally in poor health, your body will find it harder to heal than someone who is in good health. If your immune system isn’t working properly or if you have other medical conditions which can impair healing, then this could lengthen the time it takes for you to recover from keyhole top surgery. Your age: The older you are, it is likely that your body will have trouble healing, so age should be considered when determining how long it takes to recover from surgery.

In summary, Double Incision Top Surgery is a great surgical method for those looking for a more masculine chest with a high degree of accuracy and safety, as well as a short recovery.
